Lament of the Time Traveller

I was born with the promise of tomorrow
Only to learn that tomorrow
Is deeply entrenched in the past
Led by demons rewinding our clock

I was born in tomorrow
And abducted by yesterday
I yearn for tomorrow
Clutched tighter by yesterday

Clawing my way toward tomorrow
I fatigue, capitulating in the present
Now I see my fellow children of tomorrow
Mistaking yesterday for today

Yearning for what they will never know — tomorrow.
